The Devoured Keeper explores the fragile boundary between ownership and enslavement.
The figure clutches what he cannot release.
His gaze is fixed.
His posture bent inward.What begins as protection becomes consumption.
Carved in layered relief from solid brown maple, this sculptural panel captures tension through depth and shadow. Flowing lines contrast with sharp, intentional detail, creating movement within a compressed vertical frame.
Brown maple was chosen for its fine, tight grain, allowing for smooth transitions and refined surface detail. The subtle warmth of the wood enhances the dimensional carving without distraction.
Each piece is precision-carved, then hand-finished to preserve the organic integrity of the material. No two panels will ever be identical. Grain variation and tonal shifts are part of the character of the work.

At Faithful Woodworks, every sculptural relief is handcrafted in our Washington shop using premium hardwoods.
Because wood is a natural material, each relief will vary slightly in:

Production Time
Each Devoured Keeper is carved to order and individually finished by hand in our workshop.
Please allow 2–6 weeks for carving, hand-finishing, and curing prior to shipment.
Production timelines may vary slightly during peak seasons.
Shipping
• Devotional (11”) and Classic (16”) sizes include complimentary U.S. shipping.
• Statement (24”) size ships at calculated rates based on destination and packaging requirements.All sculptures ship via insured ground service and are carefully packaged to protect depth, edges, and surface detail.
Larger-scale pieces require reinforced packaging to ensure safe delivery and are fully insured during transit.
Tracking information will be provided once your piece leaves our workshop.
Because each sculptural reilef is handcrafted and made to order, all sales are final.
We do not accept returns or exchanges.
If your item arrives damaged due to shipping, you must contact us within 7 days of confirmed delivery.
